Gingerbread Hunt!

I liked finding the clue in the locker. I really liked the Gingerbread Hunt! I really liked looking for him in the office. The most favourite part was baking them. My most favourite, favourite, favourite part was eating them. - Hayden

We found clues to look for the Gingerbread Man. There were clues in the library, the office, the locker, and the photo copy room. I liked finding the Gingerbread Man and seeing the clue in the locker. - Tanner

The Gingerbread Hunt was so much fun! I opened the envelope and a Gingerbread guy came out. We had to read him and then went into the gym, the office, the library, water fountain and the locker. Then we baked him. We ate them at school and I saved two of them for home. - Nick

What We Know About Pumpkins!

Our class has been learning about pumpkins. These are the things we know:
- they are orange
- green stems
- they grow on a vine
- you can make pumpkin soup
- they make a jack-o-lantern
- you can make pumpkin bread and pie
- they are green and then they turn orange
- they have seeds
- they are smooth or bumpy
- they can be big or small
- they have thick vines

First we cut the top of the pumpkin. Then we took the seeds out. We separated the seeds from the goop. I dressed up as a kitty. Everybody had lots of fun. - Cadance

We took out the seeds then we carved the pumpkins. We weighed the pumpkins. Ours weighed 5 kg. I dressed up as an elf. We had lots of fun and we went to the other class. Happy Halloween! - Tate

We took the seeds out and the goop. We made them into jack-o-lanterns. We guessed how much they weighed and measured the pumpkins. I dressed up like Iron Man. - Mark

Terry Fox Run

We had a lot of fun. We played a game in the big gym. My partner was Stacy, Hayden and Rhett. We went to the park and had a lot of fun at the school. - Molly

We rolled down the hill and slid down the slide at the park. We were with the grade 7/8 classes. The hill was my favourite station. - Devron

We rolled down the hill, slid down the slide. We had super, super, super lot of fun. We balanced on the wood. We kicked the ball and my partner gave me a piggy back ride. My partner said I was awesome. We had juice with watermelon for a snack. In the big gym we kicked the ball into the net. We climbed up and down the hill. Ms Martens was taking pictures of us. We were running because we were raising money for cancer. - Liam

Mr Clace and Mrs. D. challenged the students that if they raised over $1000 they would dress up as a super hero. The students raised over $2500 for cancer! Thanks for your support.

When we were baking the muffins we used brown sugar, oil, baking powder and an egg. We put cinnamon on top. We each got to eat one. They were awesome. - Natasha

We used sugar, apples and brown sugar. They were delicious. We gave 2 to our mom and dad at Meet the Teacher. We had a lot of fun. - Logan
