Meeting Chris Hadfield

I had the privilege of meeting Commander Chris Hadfield at McNally Bookstore. After waiting 3 hours in line...... he finally signed a copy of his new book called "An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth". It was worth the wait.

Halloween

We used flour to make dough. We make cookies out of dough. We used shapes to press into the dough. I used a pumpkin shape. We put the cookies into the oven. Then we put sprinkles on them. They tasted good. - Alisha

We took the top off the pumpkin and then we took the seeds out. My mom came to help us. There were 800 seeds. We guessed how many kilograms our pumpkin weighed. Mine weighed 7 kg. We also measured how tall our pumpkin was. My mom carved a jack-o-lantern vampire. And I had fun doing it. I did not like touching the pulp.  - Hayden

We had fun at our party. There were 2 people dressed up as Iron Man. I was an Elf. We looked at the Auto body Shop to show them our costumes. We got to do activities in the gym. There was a haunted house and I got 6 candies. The teachers were Minions. - Tate

Alex Grows a Zucchini



I put a zucchini seed in the garden in spring. It grew and grew. I looked in my garden and there was a big zucchini. It weighs 10 pounds and is 62 cm long. We are going to make a cake with it. - Alex

Grade 1/2 Field Trip

The grade 1/2 classes went to the Science Museum and the Planetarium. We had a great time, and  would like to thank the volunteers that helped on the trip. Enjoy the video!

 

Buddy Reading with Grade 5/6!

Buddy Reading with Lucas is great! We got to have popsicles on the last day. Buddy Reading is when you read with your buddy from Grade 5/6 and Lucas. We read twice a month and Lucas you missed the popsicles. - Riley

Sprayer Comes To School

 

My dad brought the sprayer to school because I wanted to show the class. It sprays the field with chemicals. The booms go out and in. My Dad likes sprayers and my Pappy sprays the fields too. I have sat in the sprayer with my family. - Molly

In the cab there was a steering wheel and we could move the steering wheel up and down. Molly's Dad's sprayer had auto steering. When I was in the cab the orange stick handle moved the sprayer forwards and backwards. Under the sprayer is the hose where you put the chemicals. The sprayer is like a combine except it has a boom. The boom is at least 20 meters long. He can lower the boom up and down. He can change the tires with a forklift. - Alex

Community Helpers

My mom brought a dog and I got to throw the ball. My mom works at Customs and helps protect Canada. We got to see her vest, belt, badges and radio. She played a game with us. The dog's name is Zoe and she finds danger. She is like a dog alarm. We played some more games. My mom works with Brad and after they gave us a magnet with the police dogs on it. We got a Zoe card with her face on it. Zoe does what Brad says to do. - Hayden

My dad is a Police Officer. He wore his uniform. He brought a taser gun and handcuffs. He helps people that are in danger. Sometimes he works all night. He drives a police truck. - Devron

 

Building Structures

 

 

I built a house with Natasha. We used popsicle sticks. We built a floor and then walls. We then did the roof. - Nick

 

I built a house with Riley and Carol. First we built four walls. Then we built a floor and then the roof. We decorated our house. It was a lot of fun. - Mark

We started with the floor first, then the wall and then the roof and door. We made it out of popsicle sticks, glue and plasticine. Our house stood and didn't fall. My partner was Devron.- Tanner
