Cookem Daisey

Our class was very fortunate to have our Red River Valley School Division Knowledge Holder Glenna Henderson - AKA “Cookem Daisey” - visit with us to share stories and bake fried bannock.

Cookem Daisey is a proud member of Sagkeeng FN (Anishinaabe/Ojibway) and Nehiyaw Iskwew (Cree woman) from Peepeekisis First Nations, adopted by her Uncle and Metis Aunt and raised in Treaty 1 Territory.

Glenna understands that the work of reconciliation in the education system is imperative to building strength and confidence in our children and communities. We are proud to work alongside her towards these goals.

Pumpkin Drop!

Thank you Mr. Dyck for dropping our pumpkins off the roof. All of the pumpkins had been cleaned out and carved, except for one. Can you tell which one it is? We wanted to test how fast they would drop to the ground. We learned that all objects free fall at the same rate regardless of their mass. Enjoy the videos!
