Christmas Concert - Working Together (Friends)

 

Amaryllis Plant

 

 Day 1 - November 18th: In our plant unit we are observing an amaryllis plant that is not in soil. It is covered in a wax base and we do not need to water it. We are very curious if it will grow. It is 2 cm tall.

Design Process

We have been learning about magnetism. Each student had to design a boat that moves using magnetism. Their boat must be able to move around a pool of water, hold 10 marbles, and still float. Students did a great job and we had a lot of fun testing their designs.

Testing Gravity!

Thank you, Mr Dyck, for dropping our pumpkins off the school’s roof. All the pumpkins had been cleaned out and carved except for one. We wanted to test how fast they could drop to the ground. We learned that all objects free fall at the same rate regardless of their mass. And don’t worry...no pumpkins were harmed in the making of this experiment! (Well, maybe just a little smashed!) Thanks for making science a smashing good time, Mr. Dyck!
