Buddy Reading with Grade 5/6!

Buddy Reading with Lucas is great! We got to have popsicles on the last day. Buddy Reading is when you read with your buddy from Grade 5/6 and Lucas. We read twice a month and Lucas you missed the popsicles. - Riley

Sprayer Comes To School

 

My dad brought the sprayer to school because I wanted to show the class. It sprays the field with chemicals. The booms go out and in. My Dad likes sprayers and my Pappy sprays the fields too. I have sat in the sprayer with my family. - Molly

In the cab there was a steering wheel and we could move the steering wheel up and down. Molly's Dad's sprayer had auto steering. When I was in the cab the orange stick handle moved the sprayer forwards and backwards. Under the sprayer is the hose where you put the chemicals. The sprayer is like a combine except it has a boom. The boom is at least 20 meters long. He can lower the boom up and down. He can change the tires with a forklift. - Alex

Community Helpers

My mom brought a dog and I got to throw the ball. My mom works at Customs and helps protect Canada. We got to see her vest, belt, badges and radio. She played a game with us. The dog's name is Zoe and she finds danger. She is like a dog alarm. We played some more games. My mom works with Brad and after they gave us a magnet with the police dogs on it. We got a Zoe card with her face on it. Zoe does what Brad says to do. - Hayden

My dad is a Police Officer. He wore his uniform. He brought a taser gun and handcuffs. He helps people that are in danger. Sometimes he works all night. He drives a police truck. - Devron

 

Building Structures

 

 

I built a house with Natasha. We used popsicle sticks. We built a floor and then walls. We then did the roof. - Nick

 

I built a house with Riley and Carol. First we built four walls. Then we built a floor and then the roof. We decorated our house. It was a lot of fun. - Mark

We started with the floor first, then the wall and then the roof and door. We made it out of popsicle sticks, glue and plasticine. Our house stood and didn't fall. My partner was Devron.- Tanner

Snowy Has Kittens

My cat Snowy had 3 kittens on Mother's Day. I saw Snowy hiding in my Dad's bin. My sister tried to feed the kittens an onion. My dad thought the kitten was a rat. I had lots of fun. - Logan

Snowy had 3 kittens. The 3 kittens were born on Mother's Day. I was at Logan's house that day for a sleep over. Logan's mom brought them to school the next day. They were black and white. They meowed a lot. I had fun. - Ayden

The kittens were really cute and also very small. They were only 1 day old. When I went to Logan's house I got to feed them. Their eyes were still closed. - Hana

Haylee's Dad Brought the Race Truck

I got to hold a big trophy because my dad won a race. He started the truck and it was loud. The 3 colours of the race truck are black, purple and white. My dad races his truck in Morden and the USA. I like to watch my dad race and there is a candy toss at the race. - Haylee

I liked the truck. We couldn't go in it because it was sharp inside. He brought a race truck to school and he raced on Thursday. The truck was really cool - Natasha

Haylee's dad brought his race truck to school. Haylee went in the truck. The truck looked very cool. It was a great day. - Carol

MINI MARATHON

The grade 6 class went first, the grade 5 went second, the grade 4 went third, grade 3 went fourth, grade 2 went fifth, grade 1 went sixth and kindergarten went last. I ran 3 laps. I ran around and around the park and another block and another block. At the park I got a medal and we took a picture before and after the mini marathon. - Liam

I did two laps and then I won a medal at the mini marathon. When we were finished we played in the park. I ran with Nico and we had fun. We had a great day! - Carol

I was supposed to do one lap, but I did four! It was fun and I got a medal. - Anthony

We ran alot and I did 3 laps. I got a medal. We were raising money for people with Arthritis. - Tate

Music Monday

Monday, May 6th is Music Monday. Everyone is encouraged to sing or play an instrument at the exact same time. Today International Space Station Commander Chris Hadfield sang from space. Here is a great example of how he is using technology to connect with the youth of Canada.
