A caterpillar will shed its skin several times before forming a chrysalis. The black fuzzy balls are the caterpillar's skin. If you see the red balls that is a sign that our caterpillars are done eating and will be making their way to the top of the lid. We have 9 caterpillars in the chrysalis stage right now!
