Pumpkin Drop!

Thank you Mr. Dyck for dropping our pumpkins off the roof. All of the pumpkins had been cleaned out and carved, except for one. Can you tell which one it is? We wanted to test how fast they would drop to the ground. We learned that all objects free fall at the same rate regardless of their mass. Enjoy the videos!

Terry Fox Run!

Terry Fox ran close to 42 kilometres (26 miles) a day through Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec and Ontario. He ran through snow, rain, wind, heat, humidity. He stopped in more than 400 towns, schools and cities to talk about why he was running.

I've said to people before that I'm going to do my very best to make it, I'm not going to give up. But I might not make it… if I don't, the Marathon of Hope better continue.”

Every year, millions of people in close to 30 countries participate in The Terry Fox Run.

On October 17th, the K-8 students, staff, and community participated in the Terry Fox Run. They ran and walked through the Stampede Grounds. The school raised $1500! Thank you to everyone that participated in the run. Let's keep Terry's Marathon of Hope alive.

A MAZE IN CORN!

The Grade 3/4 classes went on a field trip to A Maze In Corn! In the corn maze we had to find pictures of dinosaurs. We went on a wagon ride, played on the hay bale pyramid, visited the petting farm, played a game of bean bag toss, and finished the day with s'mores! We had a great time and many memories were made!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MILA!

AGRICULTURE ON WHEELS

Nutrien Ltd. is teaching the next generation about growing healthy plants and where food comes from through Seed Survivor. In partnership with Agriculture in the Classroom - ManitobaNutrien’s Seed Survivor display visited our school.

Seed Survivor is a free, curriculum-based learning experience that encourages children to understand what makes plants grow. The Agriculture on Wheels classroom provided students an opportunity to compete as virtual farmers, dig for real fossils (and learn how they relate to agriculture), and even plant a sunflower seed to take home and grow.

Thank you to the presenters for providing our students with a fun learning experience!
